East of England Co-op selects the EDI PLUS fully managed service

East of England Co-op Society, one of the largest consumer co-operatives in the UK, have selected EDI PLUS as their new EDI provider, adopting the EDI PLUS fully managed EDI service.

East of England Co-op recognised that, in order to improve their electronic trading offering to their suppliers, they needed to find an innovative partner who could provide a next generation EDI solution that would support the streamlining of their business processes. They set out to find a provider who could migrate their existing EDI capability and extend this to include additional functionality and messages to a wider range of suppliers.

East of England Co-op focus heavily on local sourcing, supporting over 140 smaller local suppliers in their region, many of which have limited or no EDI capability, therefore any potential partner had to have an EDI web portal offering to support these suppliers. Not only can the EDI PLUS service provide the EDI capability required to the larger suppliers, it also offers an EDI web portal for the smaller suppliers who will use the portal to enable them to trade electronically.

Another key factor in the decision making process for moving to EDI PLUS was the Managed Service offering that ED PLUS provide, and this was a significant differentiator from other vendors being considered.
